The struggle of improving our skills

Hey guys,

I have been really busy doing client stuff, that I can't show. So there was some slacking in updates.

Other than that, I have come across this really helpful article by Ron Lemen. 
I shamelessly copied the title of his post, because it is some damn fitting.

It refers to how he studies and directed me towards the book "Peak" by Anders Ericsson and Robert Pool.

I listened to it as an audio-book and it really changed the way I approach studying a subject. Instead of doing prolonged studies, trying to match every pixel, I now try to understand the subject. To do this I try to simplify the problem I am facing and try to train that specific thing. Of course I sometime fall back into mindless copying. But I try to stay focused on the task.

This is also why I haven't posted in a while. My studies aren't as presentable sometimes as they have been. Instead of doing copies, sometimes I just sketch or even write out things about subject.

Also often this is done with pencil on paper, so it isn't as easily available for presentation. But I did scrap a lot of stuff together for this post. I hope you enjoy it.

The below ones were done before I read the book, so they are a bit more refined and worked on. I would still do these studies, but only if they were in line of what I wanted to learn.
