I skipped to the part, where Clint reviews my character, but the rest is also super - interesting.

I participated in the character design challange over at "Swatches". It is an art-community created by "MTG"-Artist Clint Cearley. This is my entry: Blade - Mage.
These are the drawings I did on a live-drawing-session on Saturday. 30second gestures, 2min gestures and some longer poses. I feel like I have really gotten better at this over the years. Still some proportion issues here and there, but it was enjoyable to do these. Mainly because of what I learned from the french baroque artists and looking at some great sketches and pencil-draftsmen at instagram.
Applying what Iearned from the french artists, I was able to produce the color-sketches quite easily. As long as there is a working hierarchy in the values, things tend to look understandable. The line-art was created after the sketches were done. It takes time to draw this in Photoshop and lazy-nezumi helps sorta. It isn't done though, the power-fist is only sketched in, but I will get to that.
