So after the last week I had to decide if I want to work with photobashing or painting. I decided to re-paint all the thumbnails, still staying within 15min for each.

After looking at my thumbnails, Anthony suggested to do more mine-workers and soldiers. So again within a time-frame of 15 minutes, I quickly roughed out thumbnails for each. I experimented with 3D and photo-base.
Hey guys,
this were the first 40 thumbnails I did for Anthony Jones' Character-Design-Mentorship. I used a lot of reference on Pinterest. You can follow me there for cool reference, it will grow with time. https://www.pinterest.de/enimael/ He then told me to redow the soldier and the worker, to seperate them more from each other. Also in their own class they should be related more. So seperation and relation. :) Anyway, that is what I will show soon. All the best, Flo Hey guys,
I am doing more figure drawing, since I am in a character - design mentorship. For the gesture studies I used the second one of these brushes: http://88grzes.deviantart.com/art/Brushes-656603878 For the structure studies I am using Mischief: https://www.madewithmischief.com/ The seated male is from a study originally done by Sebastian Szmyd. Hey guys,
I started a Character-Design-Mentorship with Anthony Jones. The first assignment was to design 20 thumbnails for a universe of our choosing. I went for "Sci-fi-bounty hunter" and did some studies for that. What was new to me, was the idea of using a timer while doing studies ... while working generally. So most of the studies were done in 5 minutes. What it does for me is to keep me focused on doing them efficiently and to not go on "auto-pilot". The latter was a problem for me usually, especially when doing longer studies. I simply use the Watch-App that is native to Windows. After doing the thumbnail sketches I switched to another idea, which I will show next time. Until then, happy learning. |
This is my blog. I will share information about workflow, my insights into image-making or just general thoughts and rants about being an artist. Archives
