After talking to my Dad about the topic of "gaining competence", I decided to get a better grip on processes. So here is a step by step process of the study you see below. I tweaked the reference for a more graphic read and took some liberty towards shape design and such. Reference below. Sorry I couldn't retrace whom the photo is from, it isn't mine.

I am not sure why, but I haven't been too active on my blog lately. But I tried to get some mileage with my studies. So here are a couple. The digital ones at least.
Somebody on Discord suggested I shouldn't simply copy but change the color-palette, so it is a bigger challange. Something worth trying at least. Armor - studies, because I noticed that I need to know the parts better. Gestures and lay-ins. I kinda messed the proportions up on the guy in the middle. everybody's darling.
I did these over the last days. Figures have always been hard for me, so there is nothing better than to tackle the subject head on. Gestures 30 sec - 5 min. Inventing a pose and drawing it (I used some reference, mainly Loomis) Studies I did of Bryan Lee's work. He is a master to me. The first 3 are after his drawings, the 4th is a study from a photo, trying to memorize the concepts I learned from his drawings. Same as before, only I didn't do Bryan Lee - studies before - hand. I them overlayed my drawing over to photo, to check for mistakes.
Learning more about painting ice and portraits. Grafit-studio created the reference for the 2nd and 3rd image. <3
